Am I doing the right things .... OR should I be considering making a change?
These are valid questions and asking them periodically, though not compulsively, is healthy. Shrewd dogs hone in on the scent of the ball being chased. Trained airplane pilots tweak their direction when navigating towards the beacon: they nudge closer to the right direction and fend off all forces that pull them off course.When it comes to career, leadership and life, the word for being fully on course is "convergence."
Convergence is the place in our lives, our leadership and our livelihoods when we're doing what we were born to do... in the place we were created to do it... and seeing positive momentum fruitfulness.
Mostly, convergence in someone's life is not accidental. It's like seeing a great dancer and knowing they didn't just arrive there that way. Gifted yes. Intention? Absolutely! Accidental? Not at all.
According to spiritual teacher Lance Wallnau we must learn to pay attention to the signs when we are in the "convergence zone." AND move more in that direction.
The practical question: How do you know? Can you know if you're at least heading towards the right beacon? How do you know if you're in... or even getting closer to "convergence?"
Here are 4 things to pay attention to if you want MORE convergence in the coming days... OR 4 things to consider if you'd like to evaluate if you're doing more of the right things... and conversely, less of the wrong things.
Best case, you show up with no voices in your head saying "I should" or "What's the right thing to say?" or "How can I impress them?" Ugh, been there!
I've heard people say they feel alive when doing as diverse things as doing research, to climbing mountains to running business meetings. Yes, even business meetings!
When in convergence, you feel "at one," in the moment or doing what you do so completely and so effortlessly you want more. After leaving such a state, you may wonder why more of life can't be so "in the moment" and free.
The truth: It can be!
However, if you read this and think: "Wow. Sure would be nice to have more of that."
First: Pay attention to these four. OR sense convergence and when you notice it's missing.
Secondly, offer simple prayer: "God, please give me more of that. More of who You really made me."
Then, pay attention to how God answers that prayer.
My guess is that God truly desires to answer that prayer for many, many in the coming days. Hold it loosely and what's there to lose? Plenty to gain, actuallyHow do I know if I'm in the right place?
