Sure! I love slogans like "Just Do It!" "Make it Happen!" "Just Say No" "Suck it up Fat Boy" and "Pain is Just Weakness Leaving the Body!" They just sound cool! You picture mountain summits, gold medals, Green Berets and victory laps.
Unfortunately for many of us, "just do it" tends to "work" for about an hour.... or on a good day, 3 hours. Then comes our human reality... or more to be more specific: our "soft addictions." This term, coined by Judith Wrightrefers to things that don't tend to kill us, at least not right away, but will progressively suck the life out of us or keep us from experiencing our best life.
What are your "soft addictions?" They may include things like overindulgence in:
Television watching
Internet surfing
Sugar eating
Just plain over-eating
Porn viewing
Procrastinating
Acting grumpy
Coffee drinking
Complaining excessively
And oh so much more
I think most of us would gladly stop our soft addictions.... IF ... we had a "Greater Yes." We could even quit if we had a motivating picture standing in the way of that jelly donut.
What "Greater Yes" might just be what you need to defeat that nasty "soft addiction" Might one of these?
