The Secrets of a Successful MasterMind Group [And VIDEO]

My guess is you've at least dipped your toe into participating in some kind of group.. whether it was a coaching group, a Bible study, a women's group, men's group or even something called a "mastermind."

And if you're like me, you don't have time or appetite for "another" somewhat disappointing or ineffective group in your life.  A great one however...??

This may be EXACTLY what you need for the upcoming year!

You see, I all but gave up on the idea of being in a group... and certainly leading one.  I'm a coach!  I coach one on one or retreats.  But, a group?  Too risky?  Inneffective?

Yet, I still heard from people I respected ... AND THEY HAD A MASTERMIND!

Michael Hyatt challenges...
"What could be possible for you if you had access to a group of professionals who are serious about growth like you, who share the same values, who have similar but different experiences, and who want to succeed professionally as well as personally?"

No ordinary people had MasterMind groups!

Benjamin Franklin: His 12 member Junto would help him establish the first U.S. lending library and form the team that created the University of Pennsylvania.  (Fight on Pennsylvania!)

C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien: They participated in the Inklings. (A group of creatives and writers.  Do you think having intiials in your name was a prerequisite?)

Walt Disney:  He was part of the Nine Old Men who collaborated to birth some relatively minor works of art like Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, The Seven Dwarfs, Cindarella and Alice in Wonderland.
Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, Thomas Edison, John Burroughs: Between 1914 and 1924 they embarked on a series of camping trips throughout the US. They called themselve The Vagabonds and would camp and vacation together. In 1924, they even visited President Calvin Coolidge at his home in Vermont.

All these MasterMind groups had incredible and creative members... and a name! Hmmmmm...

Me Personally

After doing most of my 25 year entrepreneurial career without one, I took a risk and joined a paid MasterMind group led by Mia Davies this year starting in February. (She called hers an "inner circle")

I can honestly say, things happened in my business AND my life this year. I can diretly attribute so much to the accountability, goal-setting and community of peers I experience through my MasterMind.

These include:

          1. More fun in 2015... and less fear!

          2. More integration of my personal and business life. (especially my spiritual life!)

          3. Charging higher fees for my services. (and receiving them!)

          4. Starting the Entrepreneur on Purpose Podcast. (one of my 90-day goals I shared with the group)

          5. Starting and co-leading my own MasterMind group (since August... another of my 90-day goals I shared with the group)

         6. Maybe best of all.. A group of new friends for the rest of my life!

So what's a great MasterMind group?   (not perfect... That doesn't exist!  But great?)

Napoleon Hill, who coined the term said it's "the coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work towards a common purpose, in the spirit of harmony.... The intangible force can be likened to a third mind [the master mind]"

The group practices Gregg Stutts and I believe make them great include https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HNJ3W77
