When Your World Makes No Sense ...

NoSenseI just got off the phone with someone who lost their job.  Right now, their world makes no sense.  Totally NO SENSE.  It's scary.  Erie.  Uncertain.

Of course, the job they're leaving was lousy and lonely.  Their boss confusing and controlling.  Their job description lacking a fit for their real gifts.  But, heading out into uncertain waters tends to plunge us into a sense of being ...unteathered.

I didn't say it... but I can identify. (Saying "I can identify" is pretty lame, done it and had it done to me) Yet, here I am writing it....  I too have experienced times when my world made no sense.

  • I planned a concert with room for 500 people, paid the musician.... and 25 showed up.

  • I was told by the head of a company  I worked for that I had "screwed up"  (actually he didn't use that word) and the company was in "financial danger" because of me.

  • Many, many more...

The key question being asked ... "Why did this happen?"  "Why did this happen TO ME?"

Of course, we don't always hear an answer... certainly right in that moment when our guts hurts and we feel like our overactive mind might pop.  But.. Maybe, just maybe might this "My world makes no sense moment" offer the greatest clue to the destiny that lies before us?

[cryout-pullquote t their fault.  I want to see them healed from these wounds.

Would those things be true without the confusing times?  Ummm... probably not.

What makes no sense in your world?

Maybe... just maybe ... might this achy, breaky, painful thing be a clue to you being set free to your destiny?  To care?  To make a difference for others?
